The emails started pouring in immediately! It was very close as to who actually became the "first three" to send a photo in for the free clutch that I promised. Here are the lucky three:

Thanks to everyone who participated! The section "Once upon a time ...," displaying photos of my past customers will be up and running in the web-shop soon. In the meantime, here are some of my favourites:

The photos will be included in a new section of the website called "Once Upon a Time ..." where the clutches from past customers will be showcased, giving the upcoming brides some ideas of different custom work that we can do. This section will be up and running by the end of February.

There were a ton of vendors presenting photography services, destination wedding ideas, wedding planners, venues, wedding cakes and dresses. But like I had guessed, not a lot of accessories vendors other than engagement rings and wedding bands. I definitely did not see clutches anywhere in sight. Now, I don't know whether this is a bad thing or a good thing ... maybe a wedding clutch is something of a value too small to be exhibiting in a huge wedding fair like this one. The cost to participate in the show is just too large that you will never make back the cost. Or maybe there just aren't many people out there making customizable clutches for weddings?
As I walked around, I tried to analyze what the wedding trend of 2010 was. What colours are popular, what theme... I have to keep in mind of what the wedding trend is in general to make sure that the clutches works well for the brides and fit in with the rest of the wedding decor.
These are some of the trends that I noticed as I toured around the tradeshow, making my way through all the newly engaged couples:
-black and white weddings (carried of from last year)
-using turquoise as the main colour
-Victorian designs in decor
-use damask in decor
-pure white and crystal weddings
-ruffles in dresses
If anyone has any more ideas on what the trends of 2010 may be, let me know!
We are going to have a Bridal Bash this weekend: Jan 15th-17th.
New styles will be added to the "Pretty Brides" category. Ruffles, swirls and flowers .... the horizon just broadened for all you brides out there!
To top it all off, the whole category will be discounted.
A stylist from the Vancouver based "Sting Magazine" contacted me in regards to his cool idea for a fashion shoot: wearable clutches and purses.
He borrowed 20 or so clutches from us and a few bigger bags from the Bay and dressed his model in them! The result is colourful, edgy, eye catching, and definitely unique.

Our Mocha Tiered Rose Clutch was featured in the October issue of the Fashion Magazine. A good sized image of the clutch accompanied a small write up about us. It also advertises the event that we are going to be at next week called The One of a Kind Show; It is at the Convention Center from Oct 8-11.
We will see how many people come to the show strictly looking for the Mocha Tiered Rose Cltuch!
For those online readers out there, the article is also featured in the online version of the magazine!
This newspaper is for recent Vancouver residents, who still feel comfortable reading the local news in their native language.

Granville magazine is a Vancouver-based online magazine that also produces hard copies four times a year. They "focus on going green and living well in an urban environment. Each issue explores earth-friendly choices and the best of West Coast living--an inspired guide to local food, fashion, decor, events and travel, plus provocative features on sustainability issues where we live."
Davinia, a friendly editor interviewed us a couple of weeks back. She was really interested in production side of the business, and took tons of picture of the purse making process, (displayed in the article) and now the article is up! Just in time to advertise the "Spend on Trend" show that we are doing this weekend!
